Ski mask: $4.95
Gun for stick-up: $200
Choosing the wrong victim: Priceless
An idiot in Connecticut picked on the wrong person when he decided to mug a federal Justice Department firearms instructor trained in how to disarm people.

Rise in Idiocy Responsible for Stupid Articles
Ancient Antartic Mountains Found Under Miles of Ice
The article declares that:
No s%*t, Sherlock. The Discovery channel and it's brand of pop-science once again declares the obvious with blatant authority. The part that really set me off about this was that even with that brilliant observation, they said:
I blame Al Gore.
The article declares that:
"the research also looked at deep-sea isotope records and theorized there was a period of global cooling, called the Eocene, between 52 and 34 million years ago, that eventually led to the formation of the polar ice caps. Then came two progressively dramatic periods of cooling, which scientists have linked to a decline in naturally-produced greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere".

"the same gases that, now man-made, are blamed for global warming today".Prove it, a$$holes. Sadly, I still think the Discovery channel line-up is the best on cable TV, but I really hate the global warming crap.
I blame Al Gore.
Jobless No More!
Well, I am once again gainfully employed. It's not at my previous level, but I'm not afraid of hard work and I can definitely climb back up the ladder.
I start next week in training. I don't know how long that will take, but when I'm done with that, I'll be working a third shift. Ugh, but at least it's a job.

The Force is Strong With This One
Bioware has a history of great games, from Neverwinter Nights to Knights of the Old Republic to Mass Effect. I've always enjoyed their games, because their storytelling skills are unequaled from a game standpoint.
Now Bioware stands on the cusp of unleashing an MMO on the market, and not just any MMO, but a Star Wars based one. Get ready for Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Time Lapse
Sorry for the long time since last post. My muse has been silent and I've been consumed with searching. Searching for a job, that is.
Today I go for an interview for one. We shall see how it goes. I am hesitant about it, regardless. This position would be considered a starting one, far beneath my abilities, and the pay is commensurate. This would pay only a third what I was making previously, but one does what one needs to in this day and age to put bread on the table.
There is another possibility, but would require me to be away from my family much of the time, but would pay similarly to what I was making before. I'll keep my fingers crossed, because this would provide better for my family, but I am uneasy about it as well, because I don't like to be away from my family for so long.
At any rate, wish me luck. I've been unemployed for almost 4 months now, and resources are running low.
Update: The interview went great! It was like sitting down and talking to a couple of old friends. We talked shop for about 40 minutes, discussing various strategies for doing IT stuff and how we thought it best handled. They're philosophies agreed with mine and a great time was had by all. Because their HR department says they can't give an offer on the spot, they couldn't say whether or not I had the job, but they said to expect a call later today or tomorrow.
