Ohio Supreme Court Declares Cell Phone Searches Illegal Without Warrant
Advocates for privacy rights are touting this as a major victory, but will this hamper law enforcement? Is this necessary, or should cell phones be classified as computers for all intents and purposes now?
That's a tough call, but I'd have to say that law enforcement should err on the side of caution. It's better to have the warrant than to violate rights innappropriately.
